Nodle, a decentralized wireless network based in San Francisco, granted private communication platform Berty Foundation the amount of $1 million in Nodle Cash to improve development of its messaging Bluetooth peer-to-peer capabilities, Invezz learned from a press release.

The grant will be used to advance and develop Berty’s platform, which boosts users’ privacy while messaging and chatting within its network.

A highly anticipated alternative to non-private instant messaging

Berty is a much-needed privacy-ensuring alternative to instant messaging platforms. The company guarantees security and privacy of messages through a privacy-by-default platform they built “using the best encryption protocol available” according to the website.

Micha Benoliel, CEO and Co-Founder of Nodle said, commented:

We are thrilled to help and support the Berty Foundation to advance its privacy-first communication protocol. Privacy is at the heart of the Web 3.0 revolution and one of the core values of Nodle.

Berty, which is a French company, stores user data on a decentralized platform even though the data is encrypted. They only collect the metadata needed in order to ensure anonymity and confidentiality of all users. Berty targets social network users, apps, privacy-focused groups, and generally everyone who wants their data protected from third parties.

The Berty Foundation team said in a statement:

Thanks to Nodle for their trust, this donation represents a real breakthrough for Berty. It will allow us to move forward more quickly on our new decentralized secure messaging protocol and the ability to communicate even without an Internet connection. More importantly, it will help secure the future of our organization.

Grant to accelerate private communication development

Nodle is a network connecting millions of Internet of Things (IoT). Its grant will further development of Berty’s privacy communication protocol. Nodle chose Berty because they share Nodle’s privacy and security values. The two companies will continue using each other’s ecosystems and technologies moving forward.
