DeFiChain has announced the addition of four new decentralized tokens (dTokens) namely iShares MSCI China ETF, Intel, Disney, and MicroStrategy dTokens after they were voted for by the community in a Ticker voting.

The Intel Corporation dToken shall be denoted as $dINTC, iShares MSCI China ETF dToken shall be denoted as $dMCHI, Walt Disney Co dToken shall be denoted as $dDIS, and MicroStrategy Incorporated dToken shall be denoted as $dMSTR.

Besides the four newly added decentralized tokens, there were others that were not voted for during the Ticker Voting. These include dTokens for Mastercard Inc, PayPal Holdings Inc, Nintendo Co Ltd, Uber Technologies Inc, and Twitter among others.

The Lead Engineer at DeFiChain, Prasanna Loganathar said:

“DeFiChain is continuously expanding the dToken universe to give users a serious alternative to the traditional financial broker – all whilst offering the flexibility and benefits of decentralization.”

DeFiChain dTokens

DeFiChain is the only blockchain that offers decentralized assets on the Bitcoin network.

Besides the four newly added dTokens, DeFiChain also offers Nvidia, Microsoft, Tesla, S&P 500, Meta, Apple, Alibaba, GameStop, Nasdaq 100, Netflix, and Amazon dTokens.

The dTokens to be added by DeFiChain are voted for by the DeFiChain Community.

Utility of dTokens

The DeFiChain dTokens are not ‘securities’ but rather decentralized tokens based on prices. They give users price exposure but do not expose the users to ownership, dividends, voting rights, or other benefits available to stockholders.

Although dTokens are somehow based on the prices of the corresponding stocks or ETFs, they do not track and reflect the actual stock price. On the contrary, dTokens track and reflect several variables captured using oracles. That is the reason why the price of dTokens at times differs from the price of the actual stocks or ETFs.

dTokens are traded on the DeFiChain DEX, held as an investment, or used for Liquidity Mining on the DeFiChain DEX. They are acquired through minting them on the DeFiChain blockchain by depositing BTC, USDC, USDT, dUSD, or DFI as collateral in the DeFiChain Vault or by buying them on the DeFiChain DEX.
