– Polkadot Desires To Increase Transaction Speed By 100–1,000 Times

Prior to updating the mainnet to increase transaction speed, Polkadot expects to implement a method known as “asynchronous backing” on its development-testing network Kusama, enabling the relay chain and parachains to both build blocks simultaneously.
