In a move that could significantly impact the cryptocurrency landscape, MoonPay, a leading crypto payment processor, has announced a partnership with Ripple to enable direct XRP management within the MoonPay app.

This strategic alliance allows MoonPay users to seamlessly buy, hold, and trade the XRP token without having to navigate between multiple platforms. The integration aims to simplify the user experience and drive broader adoption of XRP, Ripple’s native cryptocurrency.

Alongside the XRP integration, Ripple is also introducing RLUSD, its own US dollar-pegged stablecoin. Developed in collaboration with major crypto platforms like Uphold, Bitstamp, Bitso, Independent Reserve, CoinMENA, and Bullish, RLUSD is designed to enhance liquidity within the Ripple ecosystem.

“This partnership with Ripple aligns perfectly with our vision of making crypto as user-friendly as traditional banking apps,” said Ivan Soto-Wright, CEO of MoonPay. “By integrating XRP management directly into our app, we’re removing friction and onboarding barriers, making it easier for both new and existing users to engage with the Ripple network.”

MoonPay’s one-tap transaction feature, which simplifies the process for users who have already completed KYC and biometric verification, is expected to further streamline the XRP management experience. Soto-Wright likened this approach to the early challenges faced by PayPal, emphasizing MoonPay’s goal of creating a polished, glitch-free interface akin to Apple Pay.

The Ripple-MoonPay partnership is a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to bring cryptocurrencies into the mainstream. By offering a seamless and accessible platform for XRP management, the collaboration aims to boost liquidity, simplify transactions, and attract new users to the Ripple ecosystem, ultimately paving the way for broader cryptocurrency adoption by 2025.
