– Coachella Will Release NFTs In Collaboration With FTX.US
According to its website, the Coachella music festival in California plans to issue a series of non-fungible tokens. Coachella’s NFT collection will comprise ten “key” NFTs that will be good for a lifetime. The permits will provide access to both annual events in April and online concerts. – McDonald’s Celebrates The Chinese New Year In The Metaverse
The US fast-food chain’s latest venture allowed customers to celebrate the Year of the Tiger in the Metaverse. They will be able to see Humberto Leon’s “one-of-a-kind collection of zodiac animal patterns.” Customers may also receive horoscope readings based on their birth date, which provide insight into the coming year. – Alphabet CEO Confirms The Company Eyeing The Blockchain Industry
On a Tuesday earnings call, officials from Alphabet, the parent firm of Google and YouTube, said they are exploring into incorporating blockchain technologies into their blockbuster services. – In A Major Eastern Expansion, FTX Buys Liquid Group
According to press announcement on Liquid Group’s website today, crypto exchange FTX is in the process of acquiring the Japanese fintech company and all of its subsidiaries. FTX will also assume control of Quoine, one of the first Japanese cryptocurrency exchanges to be established with the country’s Financial Service Agency (FSA) in 2017. – Cardano Increases Block Size By 11% To Address Scaling Issues
Input Output, Cardano’s key development team, will raise the network block size by 11%. Plutus, the team’s smart contract platform, will also get a memory boost. Input Output announced that Cardano’s block size would be increased from 72 to 80 kilobytes. The upgrades would give greater resources for Plutus scripts to improve dApp user experience while enhancing overall network capacity, according to the Input Output team. Senator Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania spoke with CNBC’s Squawk Box about trading cryptocurrencies and maintaining it in one’s portfolio, as well as whether other senators, such as legislative members of congress, should be allowed to trade while having access to information that the typical person does not.
