– Polkadot Co-Founder Gavin Wood Reveals 18.9Million $DOT Development Fund Allocation
Polkadot co-founder Gavin Wood reveals an 18.9 million DOT ($777 million) development fund just before the network’s launch of the auctions for the initial batch of parachain slots. This development fund will be disbursed through community governance as Wood goes on to note that the money will be used on the Polkadot community for building, improving, educating and also other things that could help Polkadot and its ecosystem. The American journalist, Youtuber, podcast host, and political commentator, Tim Pool holds more discussion on bitcoin. – Shiba Inu (SHIB) Becomes Most Traded Crypto on Coinbase
CoinMarketCap data shows that Shiba Inu has become the most-traded cryptocurrency on Coinbase. It is worth noting that Shiba Inu recorded $1.078 million in daily trading volume on America’s largest exchange, which is more than Ether, Bitcoin, and Solana combined. With a market cap of $15.4 billion, Shiba Inu is currently the 13th biggest cryptocurrency. It is inching closer to flipping Dogecoin, which remains in 9th place with a market cap of $32.7 billion. – China Presses McDonald’s To Support Digital Yuan
The People’s Republic of China is preparing for its full roll-out of the CBDC in February 2022, during the introduction of the Beijing Winter Olympics. According to the Financial Times’ (FT) unnamed sources, the Chinese government wants McDonald’s to get on board with the digital yuan. FT notes that a large quantity of McDonald’s restaurants in Shanghai are currently testing China’s CBDC. Bitcoin’s hashrate continues to increase since the last three months jumping above the 160 EH/s zone nine times since July 25 and over 180 EH/s once so far.
