– WisdomTree Expands Fund’s Exposure To Bitcoin Futures, Re-Applies For Spot ETF
WisdomTree, an asset manager with over $76 billion in assets under management, announced on Thursday that its commodities-focused Managed Futures Strategy exchange-traded fund now has bitcoin futures exposure (ETF). WisdomTree’s proposal for a spot bitcoin ETF was denied by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) a month ago, but the business has since refiled. – Bitso, Latin American Cryptocurrency Exchange To Support S. Paulo Football Club
Bitso, a Latin American crypto exchange, revealed on Friday that it has signed a three-year sponsorship deal with the Brazilian soccer side S Paulo Futebol Clube (SPFC). According to Bitso’s Vice President of Marketing, José Molina, the crypto exchange’s logo will appear on S. – Katie Haun Plans To Raise $900 Million For Two Cryptocurrency Funds
Venture capital (VC) guru Katie Haun is reportedly raising $900 million for two cryptocurrency funds following the departure from Andreessen Horowitz, according to Financial Times. This could be a significantly large debut for a new venture capital firm. Haun plans to raise $300 million for a fund designed to make early investments in cryptocurrency startups, while the other $600 million will be raised for a fund dedicated to larger firms and digital tokens. Ethereum, according to Joey Krug, co-chief investment officer of cryptocurrency hedge fund Pantera Capital, has the potential to become a major role in the global financial system. – Bitcoin Mining In U.S. Now Accounts For 35% Of The Global Market
Bitcoin miners with US IP addresses, who used only 4.1 percent of total computer energy in September 2019, known as the ‘hashrate’ (or hash rate), have now become the largest consumers of Bitcoin energy, accounting for 35.4 percent of total consumption, more than eight times the amount two years ago.
