– Through NYDIG, Flushing Bank will offer Bitcoin services
Flushing Bank, a New York State-chartered commercial bank, announced Tuesday that it will begin offering Bitcoin services to its customers in Q1 2022. The firm is the latest traditional financial institution to hop on the Bitcoin bandwagon, thanks to a partnership with institutional bitcoin broker NYDIG. Grayscale, the world’s largest crypto asset management, has added VeChain (VET), Iota, Monero (XMR) and Axie Infinity to the list of assets it is considering adding to its investment products. Algorand (ALGO), Arweave (AR), Elrond (EGLD), Enjin (ENJ), Fantom (FTM), Gala, Gelato (GEL), and other assets are also being considered. Valkyrie has applied for clearance for another exchange-traded fund, months after launching a Bitcoin futures-backed ETF on the New York Stock Exchange. The company wants the new product to be solely for bitcoin mining companies. Valkyrie also stated in its registration that it will focus on mining companies that use green and renewable energy, with 80 percent or more of the fund’s net assets flowing to such companies. As per Glassnode, the amount locked recently hit a new ATH of 9,213,714 ETH, worth about $23.9 billion at the current exchange rate. This means that the ETH 2.0 contract currently holds roughly 8% of the entire ETH supply of 119,318,828. Investors and the Ethereum community have long-term bullish expectations for ETH. Tesla presented its financial figures for the fourth quarter and fiscal year 2021. At the end of last year, the company’s unaudited balance sheet showed net digital assets of $1.26 billion. This figure hasn’t changed since the third quarter. Tesla’s unaudited summary of cash flows also shows that no digital assets were purchased or sold in the previous three quarters. Real Bedford, the world’s first football team to run on the Bitcoin standard, has partnered with payment processing firm OpenNode to advance its goal of accepting bitcoin for all of the club’s products and services. The club’s decision on a payment processing method follows Real Bedford’s announcement of a bitcoin custody approach a few weeks ago.
