– Hut 8 Signs Agreement To Become 100% Self-Sustaining Mining Company
Hut 8 (HUT), a Canadian crypto miner, has agreed to buy all 960 Whatsminer M31S+ machines from hosting client Taal. Hut 8’s total hashrate will increase by 81 petahash per second (PH/s) to 2.62 exahash per second (EH/s) following the purchase of the machines. The agreement is set to close on May 1, and Hut 8 will become the owner of the mining rigs, rather than paying Taal rent for their use. Read Full on coindesk.
– Binance US Receives License To Operate As Money Transmitter In Puerto Rico
Binance US, the company’s heavily regulated North American business, has been granted a “money transmitter license” in Puerto Rico. According to the April 19 notice, this is the company’s fourth such license clearance in as many months. – The NBA Announced ‘Dynamic’ Ethereum NFTs To Be Used In Playoffs
On Wednesday, the NBA will start minting an Ethereum NFT collection of 18,000 assets called The Association. NFTs are one-of-a-kind blockchain tokens that show who owns what, such as a work of digital art. In this year’s NBA playoffs, each Association NFT stands for an actual NBA player. Institutional crypto-fiat gateway network Silvergate Bank saw a 93% increase in revenue and a 94% increase in net income. Silvergate Bank facilitates crypto exchanges and institutional investors to transfer U.S. dollars and euros through its Silvergate Exchange Network (SEN). Commerzbank, situated in Germany, is one of the first banks to offer digital asset-related services, announcing its application for a crypto custody business license from the country’s Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). Fidinam Group, a multinational based in Switzerland, is now taking Shiba Inu as a payment method, according to @ShibaXanders, an admin of the Shiba Inu Venezuela community. Fidinam is said to have operations in Germany, Austria, Belgium, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Spain.
